Pulmonary Function Testing
Comprehensive breathing tests to diagnose and monitor respiratory conditions.

Overview
Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) is a complete evaluation of the respiratory system including patient history, physical examination, chest x-ray, arterial blood gas analysis, and tests of pulmonary function. Spirometry — including measurements of FVC, FEV1, FEF values, forced inspiratory flow rates, and MVV — assesses the ability of the lungs to move air quickly through the airways to identify airway obstruction. We use these results to diagnose and monitor conditions such as asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and COPD, and to assess bronchial hyperresponsiveness.
